Summer

Hi, I've.. resurfaced.

I made a promise to myself that I'll try to write more, blog more. Since.. many people are cashing in on it, WHY THE FUCK NOT ME?! I can... put together some sentences. Sure I do.

At some point, somebody's gonna find my entries interesting.

There really isn't any difference between summer and non-summer days here in SG. It's either humid or much more humid. We get the occasional rain and thunderstorms but we won't be seeing that for awhile, the hot, sticky summer is here to stay.

Blazer - Cotton On ; Flora top - New Look ; Tortise shell shades - Cotton on ; Polish - OPI ; Accessories - Far east plaza

As much as I enjoy layering but it's almost impossible in SG. First of all, I sweat like a pig in 5 minutes. This blazer is quite a prized possession for me, it's made of the thinnest and lightest blazer material ever, and it has shoulder pads!

Summer's almost the best time to play up the neons and bold colors! Nobody's gonna judge you for shit. If anybody's interested to find out the name of these two yummy colors I own..

Charged up cherry - NLB35
Metallic 4 life - NLN15

My motto for the summer: Don't play it down, ever.

Blouse: Cotton on / Denim Skirt: KMart @ Perth

I'm not emotionally ready to go back to work but here I am. Was away for a week and my emails piled up to 257. Thank god for amazing colleagues who covered my duties while I'm away! I reckon I should get down to posting Perth pictures soon. Hope you guys are having an awesome mid week.

America's Music Awards

Justin Bieber walked away with Best Male Artist, eat that Bieber-haters!

Here are my hits and misses. (Man, love creating these.. lists.)

Rihanna didn't do it for me this time. She's always trying to look different and this time she ended up looking like my puke last birthday after a plate of indian mee goreng and A LOT of drinks. Never wear the same color from top to toe except black. I hear Ronald from McDonald's say he wants his hair back.

Miley Cyrus looks cute in this mini dress and her sparkly Louboutins. But honestly, if you ask me, that long train looks like she stepped out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck under her shoes.

Oh Hi, Avril! Long time no see. And I reckon after your divorce with your loser husband you decided that you can still be 16 and bad ass? NOT. Majorrrrrrrrrr roll eyes at her pink streaks.

I'm not sure about this piece on Heidi Klum. I like that it's kinda sexy underneath, not showing it all... but it made her look shapeless.

I kind of expected more from Mrs Russell Brands. This pastel pink number looks too sweet and made her look like she extended her wedding to this music event.

Taylor Swift looks so gorgeous here, almost unrecognizable!! Love the new heavy bangs A LOT. The sparkly dress drew a lot of attention to her slender legs too. For once, she doesn't look like a country singer.

I remember the last huge music event, Ke$ha wore somewhat like a trash bag and she's doing it again. Maybe she's trying to tell everyone she's rubbish? Someone should gunny sack her.

Kelly Osbourne is my inspiration to lose more weight. I want to be able to wear a nice black tube dress and look just as good.

Lavin hearts H&M

Am I not cool if I don't blog about H&M and Lavin's collaboration?

Lavin hearts H&M collection has finally hit the stores worldwide. (fml, why isn't there H&M in Singapore?!) We can only feast on pictures taken from Lavin Hearts H&M Haute Couture Fashion Show and Cocktail Party that took place in the New York high fashion scene. "Everyone's taking high fashion to the high street," Albert Elbaz explained beforehand. "I wanted to try to bring the high street back to high fashion." And so he did. Expect extra ruffles, special buttons or doubled up.

Here are some of my favorites:

So. many. leopard. prints. Looking at them makes me perpetually high.
Check out the rest HERE!

Hope you had a good Sunday. I know you slept it away. Me too.

Fly like a G6

Everybody's blogging about Lavin for H&M.. which I'm getting a little sick of. Kinda like a reflex. ANYWAY, THESE TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.

I don't see why celebrity parents should hide their kids from the limelight unless they're milking them like a cash cow. I deduced there can only be 2 reasons:

A) Their babies are ugly
B) They can't stand the fact that they will one day grow old and their kids will be stealing all the attention and limelight

I was extremely happy when JLO decided to let twins Emme and Max share her glory for very obvious reasons:

A) THEY'RE SO FUGGIN' CUTEEEEEEEE!
B) It's for an extremely good cause.
C) Well, it's kinda like screaming at our faces tho Daddy's not so great in the looks department (and talent) but with good mommy genes, you can still look really good.

Gist of the Campaign: JLO stars alongside her two-year-old twins, Emme and Max, in Gucci’s latest campaign which will hit stores in spring 2011. Gucci will in return make a donation to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation which JLO started with her sister. The shoot took place in Malibu (GORGEEEEOUSSSSSSSS), the sunlight looked so perfect on JLO's flawless skin and her twin toddlers are too cute for words. Glam in the sand!

You can check out the behind-the-scenes video for the shoot. Honestly, make me wanna have babies.

Korean loving

Just got these off Earl Grey Party, can't wait to get my hands on them.

Kate Spade Pop-up store in London

As I patiently wait for my Kate Spade BB pouch to arrive (another 15 ++ days to be exact), Kate Spade never fails to tickle my fancy, girl....

Kate Spade opens their Pop-up Store in London on 13th October with a twist of whimsical and sweetness.

What's a pop-up store, you may ask? Pop-up retail has been increasingly popular with major brands, as the name suggests it's a store that pops up out of nowhere, drawing a lot of buzz and crowd, and then disappear or morph into something else, adding to retail the fresh feel, exclusivity and surprise that galleries, theatres and Cirque du Soleil-adepts have been using for years. In Kate Spade's pop-up apartment, it consists of 4 rooms: lounge, kitchen, dining room and bedroom. For you Londeners, there will be KS merchandise exclusive for this pop-up store in London only.

I totally dig the floors. If you noticed, its not exactly new, it has this touch of vintage that really makes it a lot more exclusive and homely. Doesn't this remind you of their Envelope design Kate Spade Clutch?

The living room reminded me so much of Alice in Wonderland. The bags hung there looked as though they were hanging in mid-air. Cute much?

Hurry people, the pop-up store will only be in London, Covent Garden till 10th November. Can't wait to see where their next stop will be.

Girl of the Moment: Alexa Chung

I major heart this girl: Alexa Chung.

Out of bed tousled hair, checked!
Doe eyes, checked!
Lanky body frame without looking bulimic, checked!

This British fashion Sweetheart has a quirky and daring style which made her stood out among all the 'It' girls in the industry. She made class look so effortless. Her best quality? She looks so sweet and harmless, I find it hard to hate her. Anything she wear makes a fashion statement. She grabs a lot of attention everytime she steps out. Fashionistas all over the world are eager to know what she'd wear next.

Alexa's style is all about comfort. She also play with colors to spice up her outfit. Maybe a flirty flora skirt with black stockings and oxford shoes. I like how in every outfit she exudes a sense of femininity without looking too girlie or elaborate. You go, girl.

How will I put together an Alexa Chung Look?

I chose a green flora dress because it best represents Spring! I'd layer it with a nude/cream/brown/earth colors cardigan to bring out the femininity and preppy girl out of you. I'd go with a pair of dangly earrings (blue/brown) but I decided on a long necklace to bring out the neck line and also make the whole outfit look a little whimsical.

This look is best for: A girlie day out, a casual date down town

Okay, I'm out! Love you all.

Edit: Alexa Chung is featured in this month's Elle Singapore. She talks about her fashion style and other stuff. Go check it out! ;)

Taylor Momsen for New Look

Taylor Momsen, following foot steps of Kimberly Walsh and Alexa Chung (major hearts!) is to front New Look Spring 2010 ad campaign. Expect lots of studs, lace, nautical stripes and anything that spills rock chick. Like her alter ego, Momsen's daily fashion style is in line with New Look Spring collection, as though it was made for her. Her fashion sense is known as the "Don't give a shit", edgy and grungy style which gives a fresh vibe to New Look.

What I spotted: A lot of black! Bring on the smokey eyes and chunky accessories and you can rock every piece on a daily basis. Jenny looks from Gossip Girl is no longer unattainable!

This is Momsen's first major fashion campaign and I think she's rockin' it. I like how she brings a fresh pop to the spread and making the rock chick look so effortlessly done.
