Vintage to a T

I like all things vintage but I wouldn't try them because I know I can't pull it off. There is just something about vintage that sends a warm wave through my hair and into my skin. Take a look at Hannah & Alex's crib. It. blew. me. away. I hate myself for not remembering where I kept my patchwork blankie my Granny made me.

3 more weeks till I move into my new place. I can't wait.

Come darkness (more gift ideas)

Great for a friend who's afraid of the dark :)
Find it here.

Gift idea for a female Bestfriend

Saw these pretty pieces from A cup of Joe and I can't help but smile. They are morse code necklaces - they spell things out like "friend", "mom", "love" and alot more. How else to tell someone you love them without spelling them out right?

Monsters

My weekend was devastatingly quiet. How was yours?

As the year is about to come to an end, are you working on a new resolution list yet? I am. I'm taking down mental notes when I've free time on the train, at work and right now. 2010 has been... kind... in a way. I battled some monsters - real ones and those inside of me.

How has your 2010 been? It's a yearly thing I do, blog about my year and move on. Will have it typed down once I've gathered all my thoughts since the year is not officially over yet.

Have an awesome start to the new week.

What is love?

I reviewed this question over a zillion times in my head and I never seem to know what the real answer truly is. Do you?

But for now, this will do. It somehow seemed to aptly explain what love is to me and I hope it made sense to you.

Sitting beside you in school,
While we'd paint I'd make you laugh.
Mine was never very good,
Yours looked exactly like the photograph.
Looks like I'm growing, I'm growing up beside you.

I don't always get the way you feel,
But now I've learned to live with that.
It's like I'm a part of something real.
I was hittin' the bottle, now I've broken the seal.
Looks like I'm growing, I'm growing up beside you

And the sun sets the scene,
While the rain misses me.
And all the time I'll be growing, growing up beside you.
Oh, The sun sets the scene,
While the rain misses me.
And all the time I'll be growing, growing up beside you.

Yet another list - Top 10 Pet peeves

It didn't strike me to have this list because I thought it'd be mean to judge but ever since I started working, taking morning trains with a half the world.. I can't help but form this list in my head and finding reasons to justify it.

#10: OVER talkative cab drivers
It's one of those mornings.. you're late and you finally hopped on a cab. After all that mad rush in the morning trying to piece yourself together, all you want is a 15-20 minutes power nap till you reach the office. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO... fuck my life that my cabbie needed to talk to me through out the whole damn journey. I appreciate small talks - ie: weather, how's my day.. but talking too much just really pisses me off and the worse thing is there's no way you can shut his trap up without being rude.

#9: OVER concerned cab drivers
Looks like I've alot to complain about cabbies, huh? I guess talking too much isn't the worst thing. But asking too much personal questions is a little.. crossing over the line, no? "Oh.. how long have you been with your boyfriend?", "What do you do during your free time?", "What do your parents do.." I don't like feeling like I'm obligated to answer any of your questions.

#8: Smelly people on trains (or in general, can't decide which is worse)
I don't get it. We all pay the same transport rate right? Why is it that some people can get away with NOT BATHING? *cries* Especially when the train is crazily packed, my face is almost stuffing into his/her arm pits. That short 20 minutes train ride felt like I'm being condemned to eternity of hell.

#7: Lateness
I'll never get it.

#6: Women and peeing
So you blame the men for not putting down the toilet seats but you can't even be bothered to check behind you after you flush and get out of the toilet? PLEASE, why should the next person clean up your 'leftovers' on the seat? Do you know how gross that it? We may not even be close friends but I'm already cleaning up your shit!

#5: People who don't flush
Other than the bad habit, I get extremely annoyed when I use the toilet at the mall and the moment I step in, it's clogged with paper and pee. Oh, for that moment you thought maybe the flush is not working that's why the person (or the PEOPLE) before me couldn't flush it. But nOoooooOooooooooo, they just didn't try hard enough. Sometimes you just need to press harder, just because it doesn't work the first time you have to give up. What the hell.

#4: Telephone operators who knows.. um.. NOTHING.
It always happens when I call any of the tel-cos.. Sometimes I really wonder if these operators been through training. STOP PUTTING ME ON HOLD. STOP TELLING ME WHAT I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR ME. Tyvm.

#3: People who wear sunglasses indoors.
HAHAHAHAHAHHA, seriously? Wtf? Stop being such a fuckin' poser. I bet the real reason is because you know half your face is ugly.

#2: Bad customer service
If you hate your job, find a new one. Don't vent it all on me. I don't deserve your shit.

#1: People who tells me to "Relax"
I guess this is no.1 because it really get on my nerves. When I'm really pissed off about something it's because I'm really pissed off? How can I relax? Why should I anyway? If the situation shouldn't have happen and it did, don't tell me to relax.. tell me how to solve the problem please.

Ok there it is! Another list. Happy Mid-week!

A Home is where the Heart is

I've been thinking about how to do up my room when we officially move to our new place couple streets away. I would like something simple yet intrigued by colors. And I reckon I can have both.

I like a good mixture of vintage and modern just to jazz it up abit. I don't like buying things all from the same store especially when it comes to furniture or clothes. I think assortment is good.

The entire big move was a huge headache because we're literally living out of boxes and buried under them. We'll be living with my mom's friend until the new place is ready. She's such a kind soul to home us. Thank you Auntie.

My mom promised me a list of things for my new room. A new (and bigger) wardrobe, a tv, some shelves and an arm chair. In return for NOT painting my room/or any of my walls, red. I've decided on cream. Oh, I'm also getting a ceiling fan.

Update again on any new room updates, if anyone's reading and wants to know.. check back.

Happy Tuesday. (cept the fact I spilt milo on my desk)

America's Music Awards

Justin Bieber walked away with Best Male Artist, eat that Bieber-haters!

Here are my hits and misses. (Man, love creating these.. lists.)

Rihanna didn't do it for me this time. She's always trying to look different and this time she ended up looking like my puke last birthday after a plate of indian mee goreng and A LOT of drinks. Never wear the same color from top to toe except black. I hear Ronald from McDonald's say he wants his hair back.

Miley Cyrus looks cute in this mini dress and her sparkly Louboutins. But honestly, if you ask me, that long train looks like she stepped out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck under her shoes.

Oh Hi, Avril! Long time no see. And I reckon after your divorce with your loser husband you decided that you can still be 16 and bad ass? NOT. Majorrrrrrrrrr roll eyes at her pink streaks.

I'm not sure about this piece on Heidi Klum. I like that it's kinda sexy underneath, not showing it all... but it made her look shapeless.

I kind of expected more from Mrs Russell Brands. This pastel pink number looks too sweet and made her look like she extended her wedding to this music event.

Taylor Swift looks so gorgeous here, almost unrecognizable!! Love the new heavy bangs A LOT. The sparkly dress drew a lot of attention to her slender legs too. For once, she doesn't look like a country singer.

I remember the last huge music event, Ke$ha wore somewhat like a trash bag and she's doing it again. Maybe she's trying to tell everyone she's rubbish? Someone should gunny sack her.

Kelly Osbourne is my inspiration to lose more weight. I want to be able to wear a nice black tube dress and look just as good.

Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (Part 1)

I won't be able to write a proper review for this movie because I haven't read any of the books or followed very closely to the movies but as for the 7th installation, I've to say that I like it very much.

One of the many reasons why the past 6 installations didn't really spark any interest in me to pick up the books and read it because the movies were quite dreadful. The last 6 was kind of slow and they were ALWAYS speaking in riddles. Like a cult. Like if you don't read the books you'll never get what they're saying and I always have this evil image in my head where a group of crazy HP groupies would point their fingers at me and snigger.

However to my surprise, The Deathly Hollows (Part 1) was entertaining, fast paced, action packed and (gasps) witty. The characters had so much chemistry together and they evolved into different persons over the years. I could see how Harry, Ron and Hermoine grew up significantly from movie to movie.

There were parts where they had scary effects like of a horror film, the sort that would scare you suddenly leaving you breathless and I least expect that out of a Harry Potter film. I appreciate the fact that this installation didn't bring non-fans round in circles. The execution was precise and understandable.

I actually am kind of happy that the HP series is coming to an end because it got quite tiresome to watch after awhile. I could see the main cast holding it back letting the cat out of the bag. I'm also looking forward to see how the series will end and whether Evil will ever triumph Good.

Can't wait for Part 2!

Lavin hearts H&M

Am I not cool if I don't blog about H&M and Lavin's collaboration?

Lavin hearts H&M collection has finally hit the stores worldwide. (fml, why isn't there H&M in Singapore?!) We can only feast on pictures taken from Lavin Hearts H&M Haute Couture Fashion Show and Cocktail Party that took place in the New York high fashion scene. "Everyone's taking high fashion to the high street," Albert Elbaz explained beforehand. "I wanted to try to bring the high street back to high fashion." And so he did. Expect extra ruffles, special buttons or doubled up.

Here are some of my favorites:

So. many. leopard. prints. Looking at them makes me perpetually high.
Check out the rest HERE!

Hope you had a good Sunday. I know you slept it away. Me too.

Top 10 girl crushes

I'm not lesbian but I enjoy looking at girls. Been toying with this entry for awhile, just never got down to it. So let's go. Top 10 girl crushes.

(Note: They're of random sequence. I love them all the same. kthanks)

#10: Dita Von Teese

Nobody can rock a piece of lingerie the way she can. Sometimes I think she's so sexy that I think she's untouchable. Hate to look at her like a sex object/icon but seriously, I wouldn't do her because I'm beneath her.

#9: Gong Li

Hi, I love my Asian genes. (I've got so much Asian pride!) Her sex appeal has got nothing to do with her showing her cleavage but it's that aura she has that makes men want to be subdued under her little pinkie. Lastly................ ASIAN PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!

#8: Kim Kardashian

1) She's not stick thin and embrace her curves.
2) She looks hot in ALMOST anything

#7: Keira Knightley

I've loved her ever since I knew of her existence. She has the sexiest and cutest British accent I've ever heard (yet still audible). I like the fact that despite looking almost anorexic (it's genes, my people..), she still looks almost perfect to me. I hope to see her act in anything in the near 2011! Atonement was not enough for me.

#6: Blake Lively (NOT Serena van der Woodsen)

I'm a big Gossip Girl fan and I'm rooting for Blair but Serena always seem to be the eye-catching one. I first spot Blake Lively from Sisterhood of the traveling pants (if you're a girl and you haven't watched it, you should jump off a cliff now) From her hair (which always seem like she just got out of bed!) to whatever she wears, she's a star. She's blonde, blue-eyed and surprisingly very hot. My god, even the way she giggles sounds hot. HUR. Look out for her in Green Lantern!

#5: Katy Perry

I don't care what you say - I like her. I like describing someone as cute and actually mean it. She's cute and sexy at the same time, what more she's also hugely talented. Gotta love her quirky style too! You HAVE to admit it, Perry's songs are of ear worm quality and they get stuck in your head for weeks. It's really just consolation that she's looks incredibly hot doing it. Plz stopz beingz jealouz.

#4: Shu Qi

HAHAHAHAHAHAH ASIAN PRIDE. I really don't care if she did soft porn before. (I'd watch it anyway) But I care the fact that she's so incredibly stunning looking and charming. Though she is not a traditional Chinese beauty, Shu Qi boasts a unique brand of sexiness that is unforgettable.

#3: Lea Michele (HAHA or Rachel Berry!)

This girl can sing. Yes, Rachel may be a little bit annoying (understated) on Glee but I can't take my eyes off her whenever she's on screen. She's a young lady with a talent and to pull that off is already hot. I also kinda like the way she looks - brunette, sun-kissed skin and doe eyed.

But if you must know, behind this talent comes a long list of musicals she has done before and just to name afew: Les Miserables, The Diary of Anne Frank and Spring Awakening

#2: Tyra Banks

She is the woman who invented SMIZING. That's mesmerizing by smiling with your eyes. She's beautiful, talented and a successful business woman. Why is she hot to me? Because I want to be her. Tyra Banks acts as an impressive example for aspiring models and actresses everywhere, and she wears her supermodel title with pride. She will always be my favourite Victoria Secrets Angel.

Fun-fact: In 1996 Tyra Banks was the first black woman to be feature on an Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover.

#1: Carey Mulligan

A writer from Telegraph said she looks like "the most delicate of English roses," a fitting description of this attractive and waifish young actress. She looks so endearingly adorable, it's so HARD not to like her. First noticed her in An Education where she blew me away. I think she's the next upcoming starlet to watch.

Oh and she rocked a short crop very, very nicely.

Ok I had fun doing this list! Maybe I should do 1 every week?
