What's new

Hmmm. I like the fact that this week is such a short work week. (triple yay!)

Perks of the job: Be part of Marc by Marc Jacobs fashion show last Tuesday. It was sooo good. I like that their spring 2011 collection has so many wearable pieces. Ultimate lust. They're a burst of colors and a good balance of neural hues like grey.

Do you want to know how they recreate all that frizz?

Tadah! (Snapped by my trusty BB bold)

Anyway, so what's new? I'm officially a year older. (haaaaappppyyyyy birthdaaaaaay to meeeeeee) Bummer. But this year despite having most of the usual suspects not in town - I still managed to feel loved. Ally and Sammie came by with cake while I had my clay mask on (IMAGINE THE HORROR?!). I was literally unable to laugh or smile. It was funny though. This birthday I really don't want much - I just want to be happier than before.

Talk when I've something exciting to update.
You have all my love xxxxx

Long time no see

How's everyone? It's almost Friday, chins up.

Here are some things that make me happy this week:

1) Got a pair of brown platforms from New Look
2) Made plans to party this coming Friday! Woohoo.
3) My new O.P.I color obsession: NL F15 You don't know Jacques!

Caught "I'm Number Four" on Monday, it was pretty entertaining. Though I seriously can't stand the way Diana Argon speaks, it's like she has holes in her throat and air's constantly escaping when she talks.

Lippies for me

I always envy mothers and daughters who goes shopping together, talk about make up and all that girlie stuff - I never had that. My mom's too much of a tom cat. Me, on the other hand is girlie as hell. HAHA I know right. Since young, make up to me is like the forbidden fruit. I'm always fascinated by the colors and how it can make your cheeks look so rosy with a brush. Makeup is really a very experimental thing for every girlie girl. At different stages of your life, you experiment different things. It took me 2 years to experiment mascara and eyeliner. And recently, I found the beauty in lippies!

I've outgrown lipbalms and glosses. I feel so grown up playing with different shades of lippies and it's always good to invest in a good lipstick. These days I even feel naked without it! ;D During the office sale, I got myself 3! (at dirrrrrrt cheap prices, of course)

This new year, I'm going to stock up on more lippies!

the littlest things

We want a lot of things. Ok let me narrow this down. We want or expect a lot from our partners. Especially from the one you have (in my case, crazy) thoughts walking down the aisle with. We really expect a lot. (quit saying no, it's the truth and you know it)

The media has changed our mindsets over time with advertisements, movies, prints and music. We start to emote, worry, sulk, frustrate over things that we can't have. We began to wonder why can that lead actress end up with a prince and I can't? I want that happy ending too. But can I? So you start wishing and your wish list gets too damn fuckin' long.

What do you expect from your man? The 5Cs? That expensive car? The kind that jumps infront of a train for you? Take a bullet for you? What do you expect from your man?

I used to expect a lot from my man because I thought I was in the position to demand. But when life takes place and things happen, you gradually demand less and modify your list.

Couple hours ago I sat down and I thought about what I really want in my man. It used to be a long list but now it has come to wanting a man who's responsible for his own life, includes me in his plans, hold basic conversations with me everyday, make time for me when he can and most importantly place me close to his heart.

Now, realistically go think about what you expect from your partner. If the first thing that comes to your mind is - he/she must earn twice as much as you then you really haven't seen the worst or you haven't really love.

Good night, y'all. Have a great week ahead!

100th Post - Find a muse

I am going to dedicate my 100th post to a recent muse I found - Lykke Li.

I'm very drawn to whispery, echo-y voices, especially those very difficult to copy. Lykke Li is one of a kind. And I've to admit, I love "powdered sugar pop". She first caught my attention when I first heard - I'm good I'm gone.

Embedding is not allowed, so view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJHdT1j6hH8&feature=related

Lykke Li's a young Swedish singer. She's quite a nomad. The family moved to Stockholm when Li was a toddler and later moved to a mountaintop in Portugal when Zachrisson was six, where they lived for five years; the family also spent time in Lisbon and Morocco and spent winters in Nepal and India. She moved to the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn in New York for three months when she was 19. She returned when she was 21 to record her album.

I find her tunes mostly speak about her broken yet prideful heart. Sometimes she sings about sweet revenge but deep down she's yearns to be love. She's into live music, good acoustic, confined spaces.. I like her.

Another fav track by Lykke Li - Everybody but me:

Do check her out on youtube!

Happy weekend, everyone.

Come darkness (more gift ideas)

Great for a friend who's afraid of the dark :)
Find it here.

Gift idea for a female Bestfriend

Saw these pretty pieces from A cup of Joe and I can't help but smile. They are morse code necklaces - they spell things out like "friend", "mom", "love" and alot more. How else to tell someone you love them without spelling them out right?

Monsters

My weekend was devastatingly quiet. How was yours?

As the year is about to come to an end, are you working on a new resolution list yet? I am. I'm taking down mental notes when I've free time on the train, at work and right now. 2010 has been... kind... in a way. I battled some monsters - real ones and those inside of me.

How has your 2010 been? It's a yearly thing I do, blog about my year and move on. Will have it typed down once I've gathered all my thoughts since the year is not officially over yet.

Have an awesome start to the new week.

Yet another list - Top 10 Pet peeves

It didn't strike me to have this list because I thought it'd be mean to judge but ever since I started working, taking morning trains with a half the world.. I can't help but form this list in my head and finding reasons to justify it.

#10: OVER talkative cab drivers
It's one of those mornings.. you're late and you finally hopped on a cab. After all that mad rush in the morning trying to piece yourself together, all you want is a 15-20 minutes power nap till you reach the office. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO... fuck my life that my cabbie needed to talk to me through out the whole damn journey. I appreciate small talks - ie: weather, how's my day.. but talking too much just really pisses me off and the worse thing is there's no way you can shut his trap up without being rude.

#9: OVER concerned cab drivers
Looks like I've alot to complain about cabbies, huh? I guess talking too much isn't the worst thing. But asking too much personal questions is a little.. crossing over the line, no? "Oh.. how long have you been with your boyfriend?", "What do you do during your free time?", "What do your parents do.." I don't like feeling like I'm obligated to answer any of your questions.

#8: Smelly people on trains (or in general, can't decide which is worse)
I don't get it. We all pay the same transport rate right? Why is it that some people can get away with NOT BATHING? *cries* Especially when the train is crazily packed, my face is almost stuffing into his/her arm pits. That short 20 minutes train ride felt like I'm being condemned to eternity of hell.

#7: Lateness
I'll never get it.

#6: Women and peeing
So you blame the men for not putting down the toilet seats but you can't even be bothered to check behind you after you flush and get out of the toilet? PLEASE, why should the next person clean up your 'leftovers' on the seat? Do you know how gross that it? We may not even be close friends but I'm already cleaning up your shit!

#5: People who don't flush
Other than the bad habit, I get extremely annoyed when I use the toilet at the mall and the moment I step in, it's clogged with paper and pee. Oh, for that moment you thought maybe the flush is not working that's why the person (or the PEOPLE) before me couldn't flush it. But nOoooooOooooooooo, they just didn't try hard enough. Sometimes you just need to press harder, just because it doesn't work the first time you have to give up. What the hell.

#4: Telephone operators who knows.. um.. NOTHING.
It always happens when I call any of the tel-cos.. Sometimes I really wonder if these operators been through training. STOP PUTTING ME ON HOLD. STOP TELLING ME WHAT I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR ME. Tyvm.

#3: People who wear sunglasses indoors.
HAHAHAHAHAHHA, seriously? Wtf? Stop being such a fuckin' poser. I bet the real reason is because you know half your face is ugly.

#2: Bad customer service
If you hate your job, find a new one. Don't vent it all on me. I don't deserve your shit.

#1: People who tells me to "Relax"
I guess this is no.1 because it really get on my nerves. When I'm really pissed off about something it's because I'm really pissed off? How can I relax? Why should I anyway? If the situation shouldn't have happen and it did, don't tell me to relax.. tell me how to solve the problem please.

Ok there it is! Another list. Happy Mid-week!

Kate Spade Pop-up store in London

As I patiently wait for my Kate Spade BB pouch to arrive (another 15 ++ days to be exact), Kate Spade never fails to tickle my fancy, girl....

Kate Spade opens their Pop-up Store in London on 13th October with a twist of whimsical and sweetness.

What's a pop-up store, you may ask? Pop-up retail has been increasingly popular with major brands, as the name suggests it's a store that pops up out of nowhere, drawing a lot of buzz and crowd, and then disappear or morph into something else, adding to retail the fresh feel, exclusivity and surprise that galleries, theatres and Cirque du Soleil-adepts have been using for years. In Kate Spade's pop-up apartment, it consists of 4 rooms: lounge, kitchen, dining room and bedroom. For you Londeners, there will be KS merchandise exclusive for this pop-up store in London only.

I totally dig the floors. If you noticed, its not exactly new, it has this touch of vintage that really makes it a lot more exclusive and homely. Doesn't this remind you of their Envelope design Kate Spade Clutch?

The living room reminded me so much of Alice in Wonderland. The bags hung there looked as though they were hanging in mid-air. Cute much?

Hurry people, the pop-up store will only be in London, Covent Garden till 10th November. Can't wait to see where their next stop will be.

Whatever happened to 8 letters, 3 words & 1 fucking meaning?!

I don't know why I like to piss myself off like that..... Has anyone of you catch up on the latest season of Gossip girl?

I AM SO MAD PISSED WITH CHUCK (CB) BASS!! Ugh.

How can someone so hot be so fucked up? I don't mean like BAD ASS fucked up.. like fucked up fucked up!!! See, Chuck Bass got us so swooned over his mean streak and possibly the most bad ass playboy we've seen in awhile in TV Series History but what is happening? In Season 3, we started to see a changed Chuck Bass (ok, I can deal with that because you know, even the meanest person will change especially when love is the motivational factor) but at the end of the season, the writers left us on possibly the HIGHEST cliff (ever) with him devastatingly stabbed on the streets in Europe after letting down Blair by sleeping with Little J. So super aww right?

(Those of you who haven't managed to get the chance to watch the series, don't let me spoil it for you, I want you to feel the agony the writers put me through! STOP READING!)

(I know you're still reading...........)

While waiting for the new season to unveil itself, I was happy they brought in a new character Juliet starred by Katie Cassidy (I love this woman la! You have to watch Melrose Place 2009 to know how beautiful this woman is!) but seriously, what is Juliet's deal? Anyway, we'll get to that but what really annoyed me was Chuck BassTARD's character development was so poorly done that I'm yawning to tears everytime they switch the scene to see how in love he is with his ugly but kind french girlfriend (she is really ugly btw, no kidding) and what BAFFLES me was how can he put everything behind him so quickly and moved on? Hello, GG writers, you people were the ones who made us believe that Chuck and Blair were meant for each other and then out of a sudden you turn Chuck into this.. erm.. heartless guy who moved the fuck on after he let down the woman who has been there for him all these while? (I know it's hard to believe I'd describe Blair as such a person but she is) Seriously, wtf?

Logically, it doesn't make sense. Now Chuck is all out to ruin Blair's life just because she made his french girlfriend leave. If I really wanted to see Chuck and Blair fight each other's guts out, I'd rewatch Season 1. Dear GG writers, I am really annoyed to a point where I don't know where this season is taking me to. To be very frank, supporters of Chuck and Blair really only want to see them happy together and plotting against OTHER PEOPLE together not each other! At least that's what I want.

Oh and about Juliet, I'm not THAT annoyed with her yet because she's so pretty but I'd really stab myself to death if in the end she's some psycho killer back for revenge. I think we all got the latter part right but you know, what is everyone's deal with coming up against Serena?

This is an open angry fan letter to the GG writers, please wake the fuck up and write better scripts.

Thanks.

Back from Phuket

Hello!

As the title suggests, I'm back to sunny Singapore. I missed home. Wish Phuket was more of a blast than I hope it would be. But anyway, it was a good getaway ♡

Thailand's one of my favorite countries. I like the warmth she gives and how everybody's always smiling. Went to Bangkok last year and did lots of shopping, this year's Phuket was really chillax to the max. The beaches were nice and the resort we stayed at was awesome. Check out Metadee Resort the next time you plan to visit Phuket! I left bits of my heart there.

I missed my bestfriend so much, I met her today. Happy to hear your exchange programme to Hongkong came true, have a blast for me! I love you, bitch!

Also painted my nails dark purple to match my new mustard bag!
